Green Day Set To Rock Bangkok Next February at IMPACT Arena

Legendary punk rock band Green Day is set for its highly-anticipated return to Bangkok in February of next year, close to fifteen years since an epic 2010 concert in the Thai capital.

The five-time Grammy Award-winning outfit, composed of frontman and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool, will take to the IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani stage for one-night-only, on Wednesday, February 12, promising an unforgettable live music experience with their spectacular punk rock sound.

Green Day is regarded as one of the best selling acts of all time, with more than 75 million records sold and 10 billion cumulative audio and video streams. The gifted group has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in honour of its contributions to music.

“Basket Case”, “Burnout”, “Holiday”, “American Idiot”, and “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, are some of their top songs, all of which are timeless hits that continue to resonate extensively with millions of listeners and maintain significant popularity around the world.

Billie and his band kicked-off their massive global stadium tour, “The Saviors Tour”, in May to support their 14th album, “Saviors”, released in January, while also celebrating the 30th and 20th anniversaries of the iconic albums “Dookie” (1994) and “American Idiot” (2004).

Formed in 1987, the California natives skyrocketed to fame with their 1994 breakout studio album, “Dookie”, selling over 10 million copies and receiving 10x Platinum Diamond status. The album is also credited for popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock.

In 2004, the band released its highly successful rock opera album, “American Idiot”, which soared to number one on the Billboard charts, and featured hits like “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Jesus of Suburbia”. In 2010, a stage adaptation of “American Idiot” made its debut on Broadway, achieving both widespread critical acclaim, and commercial success.

Green Day has dropped a total of 14 studio albums to date, with “Saviors” being the latest. This record contains numerous hit tracks such as “The American Dream is Killing Me” and “Dilemma” showcasing the superstars’ enduring musical influence even after many years.

Excitement has been building among the trio’s passionate Thailand-based fans ever since the announcement of their upcoming show in the kingdom. Followers have been ardently waiting for their return, particularly since a concert scheduled for March 2021 was pulled.
