One of the most esteemed rock acts in Ireland, Kodaline, is returning to Bangkok later this year, bringing its anticipated “Farewell Tour” to UOB Live, Emsphere on Friday, August 28. The beloved ensemble, which has captivated millions of global followers with hits such as “All I Want,” “High Hopes”, and “The One,” will perform their final-ever concert in Thailand.
After more than 20 years together, the band recently confirmed the decision to part ways, marking the occasion through a closing run and a forthcoming studio album that provides fans the chance to embrace its lasting legacy whilst enjoying one last wave of new music.
Celebrating this closing chapter, Thai audiences can look forward to a wonderful evening, featuring a career-spanning setlist from Kodaline showcasing hit songs shaping countless moments — from solemn, introspective reflections to notably significant milestones in life.
First called “21 Demands” back in 2005, Kodaline consists of lead vocalist Steve Garrigan, guitarist Mark Prendergast, drummer Vinny May, and bass player Jason Boland. 2012 was a turning point for the lads when they rebranded to Kodaline, pursuing a fresh sonic path.
Not long after, the quartet released their debut album “In a Perfect World,” which featured numerous standout songs, including “All I Want,” a fan-favourite that was selected as BBC Radio 1 presenter Fearne Cotton’s “Record of the Week.” They then put out another three studio albums and a live recording, collectively clocking up billions of streams via Spotify.
Through a collection of emotionally resonant anthems and heartfelt lyrics centred on love and loss, Kodaline has built a profound bond with listeners — a journey transporting them from busking on the streets to appearing on some of the world’s most celebrated stages.
Steve and his bandmates have performed in Thailand on several occasions, most recently during the “Live in Asia” tour at IMPACT Exhibition Hall in 2023, where they garnered high praise from attendees. The upcoming Bangkok show promises to be a particularly special and emotional time, marking their last appearance in front of devout Thailand-based fans.
Kodaline’s current tour will also make stops in other Asian cities such as Singapore, Seoul, Hong Kong, Manila, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Tokyo, before jetting off to Australia for an array of gigs and ultimately wrapping up with multiple UK concerts by the end of the year.
