The iconic Nile Rodgers & CHIC will come to Thailand for a one-night-only performance at UOB LIVE, Emsphere later this year, promising an epic night of funk, disco and dance hits.

Acclaimed for revolutionizing the funk and disco scenes of the 1970s, Nile and the other eight members of CHIC remain greatly popular to this day, with a huge fanbase.
Founded by songwriter and producer Nile Rodgers, alongside bassist Bernard Edwards in 1972 in New York, the group now comprises Rodgers, Jerry Barnes, Kimberly Davis, Steve Jankowski, Audrey Martells, Russell Graham, Ralph Rolle, Richard Hilton, and Ken Gioffre.
Some of their timeless classics include “Dance, Dance, Dance”, “I Want Your Love”, “Good Times”, “Everybody Dance”, “My Forbidden Lover”, and “Rebels Are We”. Their funk-disco track “Le Freak”, released in 1978, is the biggest-selling single in Atlantic Records history.
At the age of 71, six-time Grammy Award winner Nile Rodgers has also enjoyed incredible success in his solo career, having written, produced, and performed on records that have sold in total more than 500 million albums, and over 75 million singles, around the world.
Rodgers, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, is lauded for his distinctive ‘chucking’ guitar style which involves rhythmic, percussive strumming of muted strings to create a unique, syncopated groove central to his funk and disco sound.
Alongside his late bandmate Bernard Edwards, Rodgers wrote and produced multiple hits for other artists such as “We Are Family” for Sister Sledge, “Upside Down” for Diana Ross, and “Like A Virgin” for Madonna. Independently, he worked with illustrious stars including Grace Jones, Mick Jagger, Bryan Ferry, and Beyoncé on her studio album “Renaissance”.
Nile and his band are currently touring across Europe, performing in a host of cities: Paris, London, Dublin, Munich, and Madrid are some of the standout places. Concertgoers have nothing but praise for the terrific shows, remarking on the energy reminiscent of the ’70s.
