Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok’s Chilli Fest Returns for 2nd Year

The popular Chilli Fest is set to return to the Urban Oasis at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok for its second edition on Saturday, 27th April 2024.

This year, it boasts an even spicier selection of culinary creations from Bangkok’s finest dining spots and Michelin-calibre chefs, fiery performances including a fire show, a tear-jerking chilli-eating contest, and much more.

The festival is further spiced up with a global, five-course meal curated by the famous Chef Ian Kittichai.

Chilli Fest Feasting

Spice lovers are invited to excite their taste buds with international flavors, offering spicy cuisine from Myanmar, India, China, South Korea, Pakistan, Mexico, Malaysia, Spain, and Thailand.

Esteemed Bangkok eateries and chefs will present a variety of dishes in a lively market environment, starting at just THB 120, including vegetarian options for those who love plant-based heat.

Featured chefs and eateries, along with their fiery selections, include:

Thep Nakorn: Chef “Ton” Thitid Tassanakajohn from Le Du, ranked among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, is back with his signature Thai boat noodles and delicious krapow.

Saneh Jaan: A Michelin-starred treasure renowned for its superior Thai ingredients. Chef “Toi” Pilaipon Kamnag crafts spicy stir-fried noodles with shrimp, coconut milk, Thai Jinda chilli paste, and spicy pork with lime and Prik Ki Nu Suan.

Inddee: Chef Sachin Poojary delivers a modern Indian fine dining experience with his Bhut Jolokia momo, kanthari chilli paniyaram with pork and butternut squash, drawing on his experience at the Taj Mahal Palace.

Restaurant Avant: Chef Haikal Johari, celebrated for blending modern European cuisine with Asian influences, offers grilled koshihikari with mentaiko and pineapple gazpacho with mint and gochujang.

Exclusive Chilli-Fest Dinner

For a unique experience, Stock.Room hosts a five-course tasting menu by Chef Ian Kittichai, inspired by his global restaurant concepts. This special dinner, priced at THB 2,999++ per person including Chilli Fest admission, provides an opportunity to interact with the chef himself.

An optional premium beverage pairing is available for an additional THB 1,199++. Advanced bookings are required.

Chilli-Eating Competition

Brave souls are invited to the chilli-eating challenge, facing chilli peppers as potent as 2,400,000 Scoville units. Prizes await the top three contestants.

Chilli Market

Visitors can explore a market featuring local chilli products and unique Chilli Fest merchandise in a cool collaboration with Akkara Bangkok.

Chilli Fest is set for Saturday, 27th April 2024, from 2pm to 9pm. Tickets can be purchased online with early bird prices at THB 200.
