Dean & Deluca Launch of New Plant-Based Food Menus

HARVEST GOURMET (TM) and DEAN & DELUCA have teamed up to achieve two specific goals: revolutionize the plant-based food market and improve healthy food alternatives.

Over the past decade, healthy foods’ popularity has increased, making them a trend not only in Thailand but globally, with the market value of plant-based food experiencing significant growth.

Inspired by both facts, HARVEST GROUP, a global plant-based food brand (TM) run by Nestlé, joins forces with DEAN & DELUCA to offer a more versatile and varied choice of meatless dishes while increasing healthy alternatives with a delicious taste.

Nestlé believes that the more people are oriented towards plant-based diets, the better the world could be. Therefore, the brand is committed to developing and offering products that address Thai consumers’ needs while protecting the environment, hoping to help people improve their health, take care of the planet, and create a more sustainable future for the world.

The growing popularity of plant-based diets shows that consumers have become more aware of their health and are shifting their lifestyles towards flexitarianism or consuming less meat at some meals.

According to research data obtained in 2021, Thailand’s meat alternative food market reached a total of 1,579 million baht, with a growth of 11% or 900 million baht in the HORECA: “Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe and Catering” segment, as well as a 9.1%- or 679-million-baht growth in the retail category.

Nestlé sees potential growth in the market and expects to leverage its food innovation to strengthen plant-based trends and introduce meatless consumption to much more consumers.

Ms. Cruawan Varunpaichit, Business Executive Officer – Food and Nestle Professional, Nestle Indochina, said: “Due to such reason, we decided to collaborate with a globally renowned brand like DEAN & DELUCA, an iconic gourmet food and beverage brand from New York, to develop menus from non-meat options to pamper all consumers with surprising deliciousness.”

People can enjoy their offerings at all participating DEAN & DELUCA branches, including Central Embassy, The Crustal, Park Ventures, All Seasons Place, among others.

The menu prepared jointly by HARVEST GOURMET (TM) and DEAN & DELUCA is based on carefully cooked non-meat elements, rich in fibers and proteins, and has no preservatives or artificial colors.

Customers can choose from six alternatives, including the DEAN OMG Plant-Based Burger, Zaab Chargrilled Plant-Based Salad, Hola Chargrilled Plant-Based Taco, Crispy Plant-Based Schnitzel & Fries, Plant-Based Penne Pink Bolognese, and Plant-Based Couscous.
