Comedian Russell Peters To Bring Stand-Up Tour to Bangkok

Indo-Canadian comedy superstar Russell Peters recently confirmed that his “Act Your Age World Tour” will make a stop in Thailand and five other Asian countries in February, 2023.

The hotly-anticipated event at CentralWorld Live at CentralWorld, Bangkok will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023. The Thai capital will join Tokyo, Taipei, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore in hosting the world-renowned humourist for his stand-up shows.

Russell has over 30 years of experience in the comedy industry, having started his career as a budding comedian in his hometown Toronto, Canada in 1989. Soon after starting out he met celebrated funnyman George Carlin, who told him to be more confident on stage, advice that helped the fun entertainer to become famous, after his skits went viral online.

Stand-up comedian, actor, and producer Russell Peters has a real talent for observational comedy and he can bring the laughs out of almost any sensitive issue. He plays upto the edgy line of all kinds of cultures, especially his own, displaying a great knack for accents.

His gut-busting jokes and over-the-top sense of humour have beguilled Bangkok crowds on three previous occasions, in 2012, 2015, and 2018. Russell’s global fame grew on the back of four Netflix specials, and the 2017 comedy-drama series “The Indian Detective.”

The “Act Your Age World Tour” showcases all new material, with the witty comic giving his true thoughts on cancel culture, ageing, and the direction that he sees the world heading towards. Russell’s show also highlights the ways in which he has evolved over the years.

Russell Peters was recently named as one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s 50 Best Comics of All Time. As well as being the first stand-up comedian to have his own Netflix special, the Toronto native broke the UK attendance record for a stand-up show, in London in 2009.

Currently splitting his time between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, Russell spends his spare time with his daughter, Crystianna and newborn son, Russell Santiago. He’s a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, and being that he was for quite some time a hip-hop DJ in Canada, he is known to still hone his turntable skills regularly to provide relaxation in between performances.

With a style similar to the legendary George Carlin, and the light-hearted nature of two of his idols Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy, Russell Peters is without a doubt one of the top comedic talents you could ever wish to see, and this tour is set to be an absolute blast!
