Ball & Chain Opens First Pop-Up Store at SIAM Takashimaya

SIAM Takashimaya stands as the exclusive Japanese-style department store located in ICONSIAM, providing the unique allure of an authentic Japanese shopping experience.

It showcases not only new product lines but also creates novel shopping experiences, making it an irresistible shopping haven for enthusiasts who appreciate the genuine Japanese atmosphere.

Now, Siam Takashimaya takes pleasure in catering to environmentally conscious shoppers by introducing Ball & Chain, a widely appreciated eco-friendly shopping bag from Japan.

The first and exclusive Pop-Up Store in Thailand is launched on the 1st Floor of SIAM Takashimaya, graced by the presence of Mr. Mihara Hideaki, President and Designer of Ball & Chain, who travelled from Japan to share the origins and evolution of the brand.

Mr. Mihara Hideaki, the President, Founder, and Designer of Ball & Chain, embarked on a journey to design an eco-friendly shopping bag that was not just bold and stylish, but also practical for everyday use.

The journey commenced on 1 July, 2020, aimed at minimizing the use of plastic bags, thereby contributing to the reduction of global waste. His vision recognizes the current essentiality of a shopping bag.

Ball & Chain shopping bags, made from 100% polyester, stand out with their superior durability and water-resistant qualities. An elegant embroidery adorns these high-class, premium quality bags.

The bags’ unique feature is the modifiable wire strap, which allows the bag to be styled in three different ways: over the shoulder, cross-body, and as a handbag.

These versatile bags seamlessly blend with various fashion styles or make a perfect gift for any special occasion.

The inaugural Pop-Up Store in Thailand proudly presents a broad array of Ball & Chain shopping bags, offering 46 distinctive designs and 138 styles for Thai consumers to explore.

Additionally, it features exclusive collection bags designed in collaboration with renowned Japanese artists – Mai Kuwahara, famed for her Fantastic Silent creation in Japan, contributed to the ‘DJ CAT’ collection, and Ryu Ambe, a notable Japanese pop-art artist.
