Chinese EV Giant AION Expands First Global Branch in Thailand

AION, China’s leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has signed its first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for corporate collaboration with GOLD INTEGRATE, marking its first association with an international distributor.

Furthermore, the firm disclosed plans for creating a subsidiary in Thailand, symbolizing AION’s debut in the worldwide market, and the beginning of an exhilarating journey to transport China’s premier EV technology to the rest of the world.

On June 28, the MOU was formally signed in the presence of various dignitaries, which included a high-ranking official from the Guangdong Provincial Government of China, China’s Ambassador to Thailand, and the Mayor of Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.

Thailand’s position as the most significant auto manufacturer and exporter in its region, coupled with its standing as the largest domestic EV market, renders it vital for GAC AION’s global expansion strategy.

Consequently, gaining a formidable foothold in Thailand emerges as a primary goal for AION’s globalization ventures.

The Thai government’s positive regulations that assist the development of the EV sector, combined with the domestic market’s growth capacity, ensure Thailand’s rich prospective for expansion, making it a prime regional location for AION’s subsidiary office.

Besides being the site of AION’s initial overseas office, Thailand will also host AION’s Southeast Asia headquarters, playing a pivotal role in the regional market and future expansion in nearby areas.

The first GAC AION sales subsidiary is set to open in Thailand this month, alongside a manufacturing subsidiary.

As AION readies for its Thai market debut in Q3, the firm is forging alliances with local dealerships to expedite the setup of a robust distribution network with a target of 30 outlets within the year.

AION’s entry into Thailand will introduce innovative technologies to Thai consumers and industries, expanding the scope of smart travel.

The business also plans to utilize its efficient sales networks, marketing, and services to stimulate market growth and enhance customer experience.

The introduction of new energy vehicles signals the inception of a more environmentally friendly industrial chain.

AION is committed to the aim of zero-carbon car life cycles, and exporting these green, low-carbon development concepts will contribute to Thailand’s long-term growth, assisting in the formation of sustainable corporate models and values.

Thailand, being the first step in AION’s globalization journey, stands to reap considerable benefits from the growth of subsidiary sales and become a hub for gaining valuable experience.

The expansion will generate job opportunities and stimulate local economic growth, rendering it a mutually beneficial venture.

AION stands as one of the select few auto companies globally that possesses complete self-research abilities for both EVs and internal combustion vehicles (ICVs).

The firm has achieved mastery over several globally leading, independent, and manageable key technologies, encompassing batteries, electric drives, and electronic controls.

AION has leveraged these technologies to produce six exceptional, smart purely electric models: the AION S, V, Y, LX, Hyper GT, and Hyper SSR.

Among them, the AION LX has set new benchmarks in the industry by offering a remarkable EV battery range of 1,008 km. In addition, the AION Hyper SSR showcases extraordinary acceleration capabilities, clocking 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 1.9 seconds.

As AION spreads its wings into Thailand and Southeast Asia, it is fully equipped to globalize its best-in-class technology and exhibit its remarkable vehicles to a broader audience.
