BKK Social Club Ranked Top 3 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023 List

Asia’s 50 Best Bar Awards 2023 announced the 51-100 rankings last week, in which four Bangkok bars were included.

On July 18, during an event held in Hong Kong, they unveiled the top 1-50 rankings, further adding four more establishments from Bangkok to the list. Notably, BKK Social Club emerged at the top of the list.

Located in the luxurious Four Seasons on the river, BKK Social Club, led by Berlin-based bar manager Philip Bischoff, scored an impressive No.3 on the list, outpacing their previous ranking of No.10.

The BKK Social Club also managed to secure the No.14 spot in last year’s World’s 50 Best Bars list.

Thailand’s next entry on the list features the floral patterns and white-painted brick walls of Tropic City, which secured a close No. 6.

In addition to this, Tropic City, a tiki-inspired bar located in Charoenkrung, was the only other bar from Bangkok to earn a spot on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2022 1-50.

Additionally, two more Bangkok bars entered the 1-50 list this year: Vesper at No.12 and Mahaniyom at No.22.

Vesper previously secured No.79 in the 51-100 segment of last year’s World’s 50 Best Bars.

However, Mahaniyom, as a newcomer, debuted on the list with a high ranking.

Inaugurated just the previous year, Mahaniyom’s unique cocktail offerings quickly garnered international recognition.

This year, they not only made their mark with a high ranking but also bagged the London Essence Best New Opening Award 2023.

Earlier this year, Mahaniyom bagged Best New Bar, Best Cocktail Menu, and Best Cocktail Bar at BAD Awards 2023 hosted by BK Magazine.

Last week’s 51-100 list featured the “Liquid Surreality” by head bartender Matteo Cadeddu and Arnon Hoontrakul at Opium at No.59, Asia Today at No.68, and the established speakeasy Find the Locker Room at No.78.

On the global stage, Hong Kong’s Coa topped the Asia list, maintaining their No.1 rank, closely followed by Singapore’s Jigger and Pony.
