In an effort to further establish itself as a premier creator of world-class destinations, ICONSIAM, an international landmark located on the Chao Phraya River, joins the “VIJITR 5 Regions” initiative, coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
The goal is to boost Thailand’s tourism sector by encouraging meaningful travel experiences, fostering sustainable tourism, and increasing domestic travel. The event is scheduled for April 29 to May 7, 2023, at River Park, ICONSIAM.
ICONSIAM Co., Ltd.’s Managing Director, Mr. Supoj Chaiwatsirikul, stated, “ICONSIAM is a distinguished landmark on the Chao Phraya River and a favorite destination for both Thai and international visitors.”
“ICONSIAM’s “Moo Light Experiences” showcases a stunning light and sound display at River Park, G Floor, ICONSIAM, representing Thai beliefs about moonlight’s positive energy and prosperity as part of the ‘central region’ theme of VIJITR 5 Regions,” he added.
“The ‘Iconic Multimedia Water Feature’ show is Southeast Asia’s longest, incorporating water, light, color, sound, and multimedia. It won the 2019 Gold Stevie Awards for Art, Entertainment & Public – Art Event and is a source of pride for ICONSIAM.”
Mr. Supoj continued “ICONSIAM is participating in the ‘VIJITR’ initiative for the second time, following a successful first year. It’s a top tourist destination in Bangkok that hosts various events like conferences, seminars, and art exhibitions.”
By joining the “VIJITR 5 Regions” project, ICONSIAM will represent Thailand and showcase the country’s best on the Chao Phraya River’s banks, said Mr. Supoj.
Experience “The Legend of the Naga,” a performance that is part of the “VIJITR 5 Region” (Central Region) project at ICONSIAM.
The stunning “Iconic Multimedia Water Feature” tells the story of four Naga families. It is presented four times a day during the event from April 29 to 30 and May 1 to 4 at 8:00 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9:00 p.m., and 9:30 p.m., and from May 5 to 7 at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.
Additionally, a Snap & Share activity provides a chance to win an e-voucher worth over 500,000 baht, along with auspicious talisman stickers.
The “VIJITR 5 Regions” project was created to highlight tourist attractions in Thailand’s five regions through narrative using impressive light, color, and sound techniques.
It is regarded as one of the activities that can uniquely promote Thai tourism. It also motivates tourists to explore all regions across Thailand, assisting in the more even distribution of income to businesses in all five regions.
