Dr. Jason Leong’s “Brain Drain” Comedy Tour Coming to Bangkok

Nicknamed Malaysia’s funniest doctor, stand-up comedian Dr. Jason Leong will be making his long-awaited debut on Bangkok’s stage in November, as part of the “Brain Drain” tour.

The 38-year-old is nothing short of a maestro when it comes to making crowds laugh, and his comedy can be best-defined as observational humour, examining the quirks of human behaviour and societal norms. Jason considers everyday situations, and gives a relatable picture, even with some of the tales being exaggerated to gain maximum comedic effect.

Laughter is the best medicine, so the saying goes, and Jason undoubtedly proves it to be true, having secured the attention of audiences worldwide with his unique and humorous approach to stand-up comedy, which will be revealed in Bangkok on Friday, November 3.

His show will be held in Siam Pavalai Royal Grand Theatre, located on Siam Paragon’s 5th floor. During the laugh-a-thon, the native of Klang Valley will be talking about the hilarious reasons why he has made up his mind to move from his home country Malaysia for good.

Dr. Leong kicked off the “Brain Drain” tour earlier this year in Malaysia, and in total, he will perform in more than 20 cities around the world, including some top venues in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Dubai, Australia, Great Britain, as well as the United States and Canada.

The former medical practitioner first rose to fame as a member of the comedy group “The Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians”. He became the first-ever Malaysian to win the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition, during its 7th installment back in 2013.

Upon completion of his medical studies at the acclaimed University College Dublin, Jason began his career as a doctor at Selayang Hospital in Malaysia. He eventually gave up this job to zero in on being a full time stand-up comedian in 2014, and has never looked back.

Dr. Leong is the first comedian from Southeast Asia to boast two Netflix specials: Hashtag Blessed” (2020) and “Ride With Caution” (2023), both of which have been big successes. Furthermore, Jason had the privilege of being the first Malaysian comedian to perform at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival held in Montreal, Canada which took place in 2022.

Another notable accomplishment from that same year was when his “HEATY” tour visited a total of 11 countries worldwide, selling out the shows and gaining superb reviews along the way. It won’t be long now until the audience in Bangkok can see his talents up-close.

Tickets start from THB 1,800 and are now available to buy. Visit: www.livenationtero.co.th or call: 02-262-3838 for what will be a memorable evening of some top-quality comedy.
