Central Chidlom To Reveal New Look by Q4 After Major Revamp

Central Chidlom, which first opened its doors on January 23, 1973, is currently undergoing a significant renovation with an allocated budget of four billion baht, and ambitiously aims to launch its ultimate new, modern appearance by the end of the fourth quarter this year.

Under “The Store Of Bangkok” theme, the refreshed look of this fifty-year-old department complex hopes to set a new benchmark for luxury retail spots for locals and tourists alike.

Key features of the renovation include a new facade reflecting Thai culture, the expansion of the central atrium, a new bridge connecting the first floor to the luxury section, and the expansion of an existing bridge that links Central Chidlom with the BTS Chidlom station.

Furthermore, the bridge that directly connects to the BTS station will now feature a newly added sky terrace, offering guests a serene and picturesque space to relax, and unwind.

Central Chidlom will adopt rose pink, inspired by its rose motif logo, as the new signature colour, prominently featuring this shade in terrazzo designs at the entrance and interior.

The building’s exterior will be intricately covered with transparent glass which will glow at night. The Central Chidlom renovation is the collaborative effort of widely-regarded Thai and international design masters, including the acclaimed British architect John Pawson.

The revamped store will host a roster of premium brands like Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, and Roger Vivier at Luxe Galerie alongside Shoes Avenue.

Shoppers will have exclusive access to unique products and brands. Moreover the beauty section will showcase 150 global brands, including flagship stores from Dior and Chanel.

Sneakerheads will be captivated to discover that a dedicated zone, “Sneakers Boulevard” features a collection of 800 pairs of sneakers, including the latest releases and rare finds.

Understanding the importance of food in the shopping experience, Central Chidlom is set to present over 60 restaurants for customers to explore. Regarding services, patrons can expect enhanced concierge services, personal shopping assistants, and digital parking.

Additionally, the top spenders, which is also known as the 1%, are invited to join Cenfinity, a private loyalty program exclusively available at Central Embassy and Central Chidlom.

Membership in Cenfinity offers several advantages, including dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants, and invitations to special events. Members also have access to enjoy perks from overseas department stores affiliated with Central, enhancing the program’s allure.

The recently renovated luxury, beauty, and fashion zones are now open for visitors. With the official launch of its new look set for December, multiple events have been lined up.

The Shoes Avenue store will be launched on March 28, introducing a range of footwear, while Luxe Galerie will see its grand opening with a lavish three-floor party on April 25.
