Meghan Markle Interview: Complaints Over Royal Family Detailed

Meghan Markle is under fire once again after a new interview she has given to The Cut.

Americans have criticized the Duchess of Sussex after she compared herself to Nelson Mandela and discussed her life in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children.

The 41-year-old said that when she attended the London premiere of The Lion King theater show three years ago, a South African cast member compared her to Mandela, the former South African president and anti-apartheid activist.

“He looked at me, and he’s just like light. He said: ‘I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison’,” she recalled.

However, Americans called her comments “sickening” and said she had made up the story. Ms. Markle has also been criticized for using her royal title to continue “trashing the institution” that gave it to her even after she and Prince Harry stepped down as royals.

In the new interview, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that she and Prince Harry disrupted “the dynamic of the hierarchy… just by existing.”

Ms. Markle also said that she and her husband couldn’t leave their son, Archie, at a UK school without dozens of photographers taking photos in a press pen.

“Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,” she commented.

However, many say these statements are false and “fantasist,” as the UK code has strict rules on the treatment of children in education. Critics have pointed out that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, can drop off their children at school without pictures being taken.

Ms. Markle has also come under fire after claiming Prince Harry told her he had lost his father, Prince Charles, after the pair had a fall out over his decision to step away from the royals.

However, royal experts had previously revealed that the Duke of Sussex got back in touch with his father.

UK personalities have commented against Mr. Markle. Piers Morgan called the interview “revoltingly self-aggrandizing, disingenuous and hypocritical load of royal-bashing tosh.”

“If Meghan Markle hates the royal family so much why is she still using the Duchess of Sussex title? She’s the fakest, most annoying person alive,” wrote Boston journalist Lucy Burdge.
