Blackpink’s Lisa Ranked World’s 17th Most Admired Woman

Blackpink star Lisa has appeared for the first time on the world’s most admired women coveted list from the international YouGov poll.

The singer, whose real name is Lalisa Manobal, is the only Thai member of the successful and world-famous South Korean band. She recently made her solo debut with her single “Lalisa,” which broke records with the most-viewed YouTube video from a solo artist in its first 24 hours after amassing 73.6 million views.

But, as her most recent achievement, the rapper has been ranked 17th in this year’s YouGov online poll of the world’s most popular women. The survey considered the opinions of 42,000 people in 38 countries and had a version for the most admired men.

The ranking included other female figures and celebrities such as Chinese-American actress Liu Yifei, known for playing Mulan in Disney’s live-action, in 18th place, Chinese singer and actress Yang Mi in 19th, and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in 20th.

Former US First Lady Michelle Obama was considered the world’s most admired woman for the third year in a row, ahead of actress Angelina Jolie in second place, Queen Elizabeth II in third place, US talk show host Oprah Winfrey in the fourth, and film actress Scarlett Johansson in the fifth.

Other women who appeared on the exclusive list were Taylor Swift, Angela Merkel, Malala Yousafzai, Priyanka Chopra, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sudha Murty, Greta Thunberg, and Melania Trump.

YouGov, the UK-based international research data and analytics group, calculates results by combining two questions, including whether the respondent admires the person or considers them their most admired person.
