Hollywood Comes to London! Tom Cruise Visits Wimbledon

Tom Cruise made sure not to miss this year’s final of the annual tennis tournament at Wimbledon, where Novak Djokovic beat Matteo Berrettini to get a record-tying 20th grand slam title.

The “Mission: Impossible” star donned an elegant blue suit and joined many celebrities at the event, including boxer David Haye, choreographer Oti Mabuse, and model Roxy Horner.

The famous actor also caught up with his Mission: Impossible 7 co-star Esai Morales, who has also starred in the TV series Ozark and Bad Boys.

Cruise stopped by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club for another day of on-court action after the women’s final match.

He and his “Mission: Impossible” co-stars attended the Wimbledon women’s singles finals on Saturday.

The 59-year-old actor was seen at the tournament alongside Pom Klementieff and Hayley Atwell.

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas also joined in the fun.

On Saturday, Australian Ashleigh Barty went head-to-head with the Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova.

Barty ultimately won the big match, getting her first Wimbledon championship title.

It was the first time in 15 years that women’s singles finals reached three sets.

The official Twitter account for the tennis championship posted some fun videos honoring the A-list actor.

“A set down, it isn’t mission impossible from here to win for Karolina Pliskova,” they joked when sharing one video of the stars enjoying the big match.

They also shared a video showing Cruise waving to the crowds with the caption: “Take a bow, @TomCruise.”

Cruise and his co-stars attended the important sports event a month after production on “Mission: Impossible 7” was briefly suspended.

Last month, a studio spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly that the new Mission: Impossible movie’s production had been temporarily halted, citing positive Covid-19 test results on set.

The highly-anticipated action sequel had delayed production in February 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic began.

It eventually resumed in October last year, filming in Rome.

However, Variety later reported that the set was shut down for another week in October after positive coronavirus results during routine tests.

Besides the famous franchise’s latest installment, Tom Cruise will star in another film expected to premiere this November: Top Gun: Maverick.
