Kate Moss Testifies Ex-Boyfriend Johnny Depp Was Not Abusive

Kate Moss testified that her ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp never abused, kicked or pushed her down the stairs during the actor’s libel trial, contradicting Amber Heard’s claims.

Depp has sued his ex-wife for $50 million over an opinion piece that portrayed her as a victim of abuse.

When she took the stand at the Fairfax, Virginia, courthouse to testify, Heard said her ex-husband had pushed Moss down a flight of stairs. The British supermodel dated the actor between 1994 and 1998.

However, in brief testimony on Wednesday, Moss said Depp had never pushed her and clarified that the event Heard described was an accident.

“As I left the room, I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back. And I screamed because I didn’t know what happened to me and I was in pain,” she stated.

Moss said that Depp had come to her aid after she fell down the stairs, recalling: “He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.” The supermodel insisted that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor had never kicked or pushed her during their relationship.

Earlier in the trial, Heard claimed that the image of her ex-husband abusing Moss had come to her mind during an altercation between him and her sister. “[Her] back was to the ladder and Johnny is swinging towards it. I do not doubt. I don’t want to. Only, in my head, I think about Kate Moss and the stairs,” she said.

The 36-year-old actress also claimed that such concerns had led her to punch Depp “swing” and hit him “square in the face” to defend her sister.

Heard’s attorneys decided not to question Moss. However, Depp took the stand again Wednesday and said his ex-wife had turned the story “into a very ugly incident, all in her mind.”

Depp also stated that Heard hit him multiple times and described her accusations as “heinous.” He said that his wife’s sexual abuse and physical violence statements had gotten “out of control.”

“I have never in my life committed sexual battery, physical abuse. All these outlandish, outrageous stories of me committing these things and living with it for six years and waiting to be able to bring the truth out,” Depp testified.

“So this is not easy for any of us. I know that. No matter what happens, I did get here and I did tell the truth. And I have spoken up for what I’ve been carrying on my back reluctantly for six years,” the actor added.
