Khloé Kardashian kept secret that she was expecting a baby with ex Tristan Thompson through surrogacy to protect her mental health, E! News reported.
The showbiz outlet said the reality star was worried that she would be judged once the news broke, which could have affected her emotionally.
The reports come after PageSix revealed that Khloé and Tristan were expecting their second child: a baby boy. The former couple shares their four-year-old daughter True Thompson.
“Khloé has always wanted a little brother for True and decided to go ahead with having the baby with the support of her family,” the site quoted an informed source as saying.
Later, a rep for Khloé told People magazine: “We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November.”
The insider added that the businesswoman, 38, was “incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate,” and the Kardashian clan asked for privacy so she could focus on her family.
The baby was reportedly conceived in November last year when the couple was still together. However, Khloé and Tristan broke up just a month later, as the NBA player admitted to having an affair with another woman, Maralee Nichols, with whom he had another child.
“Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years,” he said back then. However, his cheating on the TV star reportedly began even before they welcomed True in 2018.
Infidelity reports have been constant in recent years, but Khloé tends to take back the love rat even though he’s had affairs with other women, including Kylie Jenner’s former best friend, Jordyn Woods.
“Khloe kept the pregnancy a secret to protect surrogate privacy and safety and to protect her mental health from judgment from the public as a result of Tristan’s actions,” a source close to the Kardashian family told E! News.
It’s unclear if Khloe and the 31-year-old basketball player are back together, but media outlets have reported multiple times that the couple has reunited.
The pregnancy news just broke on Wednesday, but it is believed that the baby has already been born or is due any day now.
