Rumours suggest Lewis Hamilton is entangled in a “love triangle” with pop icon Shakira and Hollywood celebrity Tom Cruise.
The UK-based Formula One champion, who is 38, has been frequently seen with the 46-year-old Colombian singer following her break-up with previous partner Gerard Piqué, 36, in the prior year.
Not only have they enjoyed boat trips with friends in Miami, but they also shared a meal in Barcelona after Lewis secured second position in the Grand Prix of the nation last week.
However, The Mirror asserts that renowned movie star Tom, 60, felt his “pride dented” when Shakira apparently turned down his overtures in favour of globe-trotting with “buddy” Lewis.
An informant shared with the newspaper that the Top Gun actor was under the impression that he and the vocalist “had incredible chemistry and taking it as a slam dunk they’d be dating in no time”.
In contrast, another source informed Radar Online that “It was a huge dent to Tom’s ego, it stung all the more because he considers Lewis a buddy”.
As per Us Weekly, the Hips Don’t Lie vocalist deems the gossip “hilarious” and, despite having a “fun” interaction with Tom at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, she has no intention of progressing their relationship.
Speculation increased when photographs of the duo at the sports event surfaced, with insiders suggesting that the A-list movie star “is extremely interested in pursuing” Shakira.
Nonetheless, a confidential source has disclosed: “Shakira had a great time hanging out with Tom at F1 but she has no interest in dating him.”
They elaborated that the singer is presently on a dating hiatus following the conclusion of her 11-year partnership with Gerard Pique last June.
The insider added: “Tom was nice, but she’s not focused on dating. She’s busy with her kids and career.”
“Shakira finds online speculation amusing. Their interaction was fun, but that’s it.”
The Latin American singer, fully named Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, separated from her long-term partner Gerard, last summer following claims of his cheating with Clara Chia Marti, 24, who he started dating post-breakup.
After Shakira and Tom’s photos surfaced, an insider informed Page Six that the actor “is extremely interested in pursuing” Shakira as “there is chemistry” between them.
The seasoned Hollywood actor presented flowers to the Whenever, Wherever artist after their encounter at the car racing event in South Florida, the media outlet reported.
Shakira “needs a soft pillow to fall on, and that could be Tom,” the source described the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One star, characterizing him as “a good-looking gentleman, and… talented.”
They remarked of the celebrities, “And she isn’t taller than him,” as Tom is 5ft7 while Shakira is 5ft2.
Tom is a parent to three children: Isabella, 30, and Connor, 28, with former spouse Nicole Kidman; and Suri, 17, with ex-wife Katie Holmes.
Shakira is a mother to sons Milan, 10, and Sasha, eight, with Gerard.
Earlier this month, Shakira candidly discussed relationships post her distressing separation from the Spanish ex-footballer.
