Lil Wayne Exits Stage Due to ‘Spiritless’ Audience Response

Lil Wayne has no patience for ‘spiritless’ audience reactions during his performances.

During the final show of his “Welcome to Tha Carter” tour, held at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on a Saturday night, the “Mrs. Officer” artist abruptly left the stage only half an hour into his performance due to an unenthusiastic audience.

According to HipHopDX, the 40-year-old Lil Wayne arrived on stage more than an hour late. He performed for 30 minutes and introduced surprise guest 2 Chainz.

Following that, he took a short break and handed the stage over to his Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas.

The audience reportedly reacted negatively to Wayne’s sudden departure. Before Cubas could begin his second song, Wayne reappeared on stage and told Cubas to stop performing.

“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks. We work too hard for this s—. We work way too hard,” the “How to Love” artist advised Cubas, as captured in a video shared by a concert-goer on Twitter.

Addressing the audience, he stated, “This my motherf—er’ artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj. We are Young Money. We appreciate y’all time.”

Subsequently, the rapper put down the mic and exited the stage. The audience lingered for a few minutes before the house lights were turned on.

According to the same source, the concert was a sellout. Initially, Wayne had offered $15 (THB 510) livestreams, but the livestream was abruptly canceled just before the start of the concert.

Audience members who were present at the concert took to Twitter to voice their disappointment with the rapper.

One person posted, “I will never go to another Lil Wayne concert again after he arrived 3.5 hours late then performed for 30 had intermission put his new artist to perform then came out and canceled the rest of the concert because the crowd wasn’t hype enough for his new artist.”

In another tweet, they further commented, “Lil Wayne need to stay humble and appreciate the people who support him, canceling a show you were 3 hours late for because the crowd didn’t know your artist is insane”

Another attendee wrote, “went to the lil wayne concert tonight. we waited 3 hours for him. then it was lit it was cool then he brought out some of his new artists along with lil twist they was whack. wayne got mad and canceled the show. im still in disbelief like he really did that. smh.”

In other news, Lil Wayne released his highly anticipated new album titled “I Am Music” to the delight of his dedicated fanbase in March of this year.

During the Grammy ceremony in February, Lil Wayne graced the stage alongside a star-studded lineup including Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Future, Ice-T, and numerous other notable artists, commemorating the momentous 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
