A Touching Tribute: Cody Walker Names Son After Paul Walker

Almost a decade has passed since the tragic loss of Paul Walker in a car accident at the age of 40, and his brother Cody is ensuring that the memory of the late actor continues to resonate.

As reported by People, Cody Walker, along with his wife Felicia, chose to name their newborn son Paul, as a homage to the “Fast & Furious” star. Paul Barrett (“Bear”) Walker was born late last month.

“This November will mark 10 years since we lost my brother, Paul, and I just felt now was the appropriate time,” Cody Walker shared with the magazine.

“My brother, Paul, was Paul William Walker IV and that name goes back four generations,” he added.

“Within the family, he went by ‘little Paul’ or ‘Paul 4,’ even though he quickly outgrew our father in height. It was important to me to have that name carry on.”

Representatives of Cody Walker have been contacted by CNN for further confirmation.

Paul Walker passed away in late November 2013 while “Furious 7” was still under production.

Following a pause in production, filming resumed, with Cody Walker and their brother Caleb stepping in as stand-ins for the late star.

At the time of the accident, Walker was in the passenger seat of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, being driven by a racing team partner, as reported by CNN.

The vehicle crashed into a light pole and erupted in flames in an office park located in Valencia in Santa Clarita, about 30 miles north of Hollywood.

This year, Meadow Walker Thornton-Allan, Paul Walker’s daughter, made a brief appearance in the newest sequel of the movie series that brought her father fame, “Fast X.”

Earlier this month, Thornton-Allan shared a sneak peek of her scene in the movie on her official Instagram account, expressing what it meant to her to be part of the film.

“The first fast was released when I was one year old! I grew up on set watching my father, Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Chris and more on the monitors,” she reflected about the “Fast” main cast.

“Thanks to my dad, I was born into the fast family. I can’t believe now I get to be up there too.”
