Sarong Sales Surge After Lisa Wore One on Ayutthaya Trip

Blackpink’s Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban, a renowned member of the group, possesses an exceptional and uncanny skill for effortlessly setting remarkable trends in the realms of fashion and style.

The day following her social media post that showed her touring the city of Ayutthaya dressed in a sarong, there’s been a marked increase in the garment’s demand and pricing, notes a local fabric store owner.

Pictures showcasing Lisa donning a unique silk sarong design have resulted in considerable increases in fabric demand and purchases.

Lisa’s online shares and her decision to dress in Thai fabric have not just spotlighted Ayutthaya’s charm, but also reignited fascination with Thai traditional dress.

Consequently, local fabric businesses are experiencing economic gains, thereby contributing to the conservation of Thai cultural legacy.

The sarong worn by Lisa originated from Charn Ruean fabric store situated in Udon Thani province. The owner, Suwimon Chaiwong, aged 61, is also the parent of actress Diana Flipo, who is one of Lisa’s friends.

Suwimon disclosed that in the wake of Lisa’s post, their shop experienced a surge of customers, many of whom were informed about a one-month waiting list due to the intricate hand-weaving process involved in creating the sarongs.

Moreover, individuals have been spotted hiring similar textiles and sharing pictures at Ayutthaya’s tourist spots.

During her visit to Ayutthaya, Lisa, who shared photos on her personal Instagram handle this past Monday, toured three temples – Wat Mahathat, Wat Na Phra Men, Wat Mae Nang Plum – and dined at the Kao Lao Ao eatery, a locale featured in Thailand’s Michelin Guide.

Following her picture share, fans flooded the post with comments expressing their adoration for Lisa, vowing to follow her and visit the same venues.

Lisa’s activities tend to ignite a fervent following. For instance, last year, after dining at a moo krata barbeque establishment in Chokchai and sharing pictures of her experience, the restaurant witnessed a tremendous surge in customers.
