Tanya Roberts has died at age 65 just one day after her husband mistakenly confirmed she passed away.
On Sunday, statements of the BOND girl’s rep while speaking to several media outlets made people believe that she has died. However, the 65-year-old actress actually died 24 hours after, specifically on Monday after 9:00 p.m.
TMZ reported that the star collapsed at home on Christmas Eve. She was struggling with an unspecific illness.
Lance O’Brien, the husband of the actress, said that one of Tanya’s doctors at Cedars-Sinai Hospital called on Monday to notify she passed away.
Previously, it was known that Tanya was suffering from a mysterious disease.
She first suffered from a urinary tract infection that also affected their liver and kidney. According to Lance, Tanya tested negative for COVID-19.
The announcement of Tanya’s passing came just one day after, on Sunday, Lance wrongly told her rep that she had died in what people describe as a shocking hospital mix-up.
Lance O’Brien, who was married to Tanya for almost two decades, said an emotional good-bye to his wife while she was hospitalized after collapsing over Christmas. He said he saw that Tanya was “completely passed out” and walked out of the hospital without speaking with doctors or other staff members because he was believing that she was dead.
“I turn around and she’s completely passed out cold. I thought that was that, she wasn’t going to recover,” he said.
“So when I came down the elevator I was distraught, I was lost, I was completely discombobulated,” he added.
“There was nobody there to guide me. I called her publicist Mike Pingel and I said, ‘I just said goodbye to Tanya,'” he went on.
Mike Pingel, the actress spokesman, then confirmed through a press release that she had died. But, on Monday afternoon, Lance told the media that he got a call from the hospital claiming that Tanya was still alive.
“She’s dead, what do you mean?” he asked.
“No, she’s not. She’s still alive, she’s right here,” the hospital staff responded.
Lance said he didn’t know who to blame for the bizarre mistake but then declared that doctors told him to “let his wife die.”
