Taylor Swift Is the First Female Artist With Most No. 1 Albums

Taylor Swift, the celebrated pop icon, has recently achieved two remarkable milestones in the music world.

The launch of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” positions Swift as the first woman ever to have four albums rank in the Billboard Top 10 concurrently, according to Billboard.

This achievement is a first for any woman since the consolidation of mono and stereo album charts into one by Billboard in August 1963.

Prince is the only other musician who ever had more albums simultaneously rank in the top 10, with five albums in the wake of his demise in May 2016.

Swift also sets a precedent by being the first artist to secure four spots in the top 10 since Herb Alpert in 1966.

Along with boasting the most albums in the Top 10 at the same time, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” has also granted Swift her 12th Number 1 album.

This accomplishment positions her as the female artist with the most No. 1 albums, surpassing previous record-holder Barbra Streisand who had 11 No. 1 albums.

Swift currently matches Drake in terms of No. 1 albums – with only The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14) ahead of them in terms of the most No. 1 albums in history.

Following its launch on July 7, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” saw Taylor Swift secure her 10th UK Number One album, eclipsing the sales of the rest of the Top 10 combined.

The full re-recorded original album was released alongside a collection of “From The Vault” tracks, which included collaborations with Fall Out Boy and Hayley Williams from Paramore.

“Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” is her third re-recorded album, succeeding 2021’s “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version).”
