After a half-century wait, the Milwaukee Bucks returned to the NBA throne and they know that such an event must be celebrated in style.
At times like this, formalities are set aside. It’s been more than a day since the feat, but the jubilation of fans and players has not died down at all.
Champagne, cigars and an order of 50 nuggets have been part of the wild celebrations for members of the NBA’s best team.
After the victory over the Phoenix Suns the locker room was a real party, with all the players wearing huge dark glasses and Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo handing out cigars to his teammates.
Speaking of Antetokounmpo… it seems that the number 50 is his new lucky number, as he became only the seventh player to score 50 points in an NBA Finals and led his team to its first NBA title in 50 years.
The Greek player is aware of that and so, a few hours after the match, he took his trophy to a fast food outlet and ordered 50 chicken nuggets, all while doing an Instagram live that 150,000 people watched.
The fans also had their own party. On Tuesday 17,000 people enjoyed themselves inside the Fiserv Forum and 65,000 celebrated outside, that’s more than 10% of Milwaukee’s population.
