Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ Tour Coming to Bangkok in 2024

Coldplay fans based in Thailand were delighted early last week when the band confirmed that the ‘Music of the Spheres’ World Tour will be making its way to Bangkok on Saturday, February 3, 2024, adding to the list of cities in Asia set to welcome the iconic rock outfit.

The show at Rajamangala National Stadium is certain to be one of the biggest concerts of next year in the Thai capital. When the news of it first broke, social media users conveyed their unbridled joy over the British quartet returning to these shores, with the group’s last Bangkok performance taking place in April 2017 during the ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ Tour.

Hailing from London, Coldplay is made up of lead singer and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion. The lads first met at University College London, going on to become one of the world’s most successful acts.

In the 26 years since its formation the group has gained fans all over the world, which has seen them tour extensively. Coldplay has made it their goal to make the current tour more ecologically-friendly, by reducing carbon emissions through several methods: they power shows using electricity-producing dancefloors, and a tree is planted for every ticket sold.

Fans of the band in Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore have also got the chance to see Coldplay perform live, with dates in Asia from November 2023 onwards across the continent, beginning in Japan where they enjoy a massive following.

“Yellow”, “Spies”, “Clocks”, “The Scientist”, “Fix You”, “Viva La Vida”, “Something Just Like This”, “Hymn For The Weekend”, “A Sky Full of Stars” and “Paradise” are just some of the band’s most well-known and biggest hits, celebrated by legions of fans across the world.

The tour is in support of Coldplay’s ninth studio album ‘Music of the Spheres’ which was a critical and commercial success. There are guest appearances on the album from Selena Gomez, We Are King, Jacob Collier, and K-Pop superstars BTS – “My Universe” was very popular with both Coldplay and BTS fans, released prior to the Korean boyband’s hiatus.
