Ed Sheeran To Make Triumphant Return to Bangkok in February

If you somehow missed the news, Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he will be performing at Bangkok’s Rajamangala National Stadium when his world tour comes to town in February.

The announcement of the “+–=÷× Tour”, also known as the “Mathematics Tour”, coming to the Thai capital early in 2024 has been creating huge buzz on social media, which will be the third concert of Ed’s career in Thailand having performed here in both 2017 and 2019. Saturday, February 10 is the date of the hotly-anticipated show to mark in your calendars.

Last month, Ed secured his seventh straight UK number one album with the acclaimed LP “Autumn Variations”. The predecessor – (Subtract) was the first of two albums he brought out in 2023 and his tour is to support both LP’s, each of which were celebrated by critics.

Ed Sheeran’s ascent to global megastardom is the stuff of legends. It is the story of how a bullied ginger kid went on to become the UK’s biggest music star: while he now tours the world playing to millions, his life and career got going with decidedly humble beginnings.

Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, he first began to write songs when 11, later moving to London when he was just a teenager to pursue his music.

Once in London, Ed busked to gain experience, playing on various streets around the city, subway stations, and other public spaces. He began to put out his own music and shared it online, which helped him to draw in a large number of followers and build up his profile.

Soon after, he was chosen to open at other artists’ concerts such as Nizlopi and Jay Sean. His breakthrough was in 2010, after he posted a video on SB.TV that caught the attention of rapper Example who invited him to open a tour, further propelling Ed into the spotlight.

To date, Ed Sheeran has released seven studio albums, and registered billions of streams on Spotify: his enormous hit “Shape of You” is the platform’s second most streamed song of all time, with close to four billions plays. Other smash hits include “Thinking Out Loud”, “Galway Girl”, “Perfect”, “Photograph”, “Bad Habits”, “Castle on the Hill”, and “Afterglow”.

Apart from Bangkok the 32-year-old star will be performing in other Asian cities including Osaka, Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila, and Mumbai. During the dates he will have fellow Brit Calum Scott joining him on stage as a guest performer.
