Hip Hop Royalty 50 Cent Set To Light Up Bangkok in December

Anticipation is building in Thailand, as fans eagerly await the return of rap legend 50 Cent to the Kingdom. The “In Da Club” hitmaker is set to perform in the Thai capital for his only Asian tour date when “The Final Lap Tour” comes to IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani.

The prominent American artist, whose upcoming show will bring his iconic rap style to the heart of the city on Tuesday, December 19, is commemorating 20 years since the massive hit “Get Rich or Die Tryin’’ dropped. The extremely popular album enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success after its release in 2003, and it is still adored by fans to this day.

48-year-old Curtis James Jackson III, otherwise known as 50 Cent, surged to prominence on the back of the album’s lead single “In Da Club” becoming a global smash hit. Fans of hip hop everywhere soon knew the catchy “We gonna party like it’s your birthday” lyrics.

“In Da Club” was later named as the biggest song of 2003, with it having 9 weeks straight on top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album’s second single “21 Questions” was a chart-topper just like the prior release, spending a stupendous 23 weeks on the Billboard chart in total, and cementing his status as one of the biggest names in the music industry.

“Candy Shop”, “Many Men (Wish Death)”, “Just A Lil Bit”, “If I Can’t”, and “P.I.M.P.”, featuring fellow rap icon Snoop Dogg, were also major hits for Fiddy, and Bangkok fans can expect some powerful renditions of these superb tracks from the former head of G-Unit Records.

G-Unit (short for Gorilla Unit) was a hip hop group consisting of long-time friends and East Coast rappers 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, and Lloyd Banks. Before officially disbanding last year they had been quite successful: one standout hit was “Poppin’ Them Thangs” from 2003.

50 Cent is also well known for collaborations with Dr. Dre and Eminem. The Detroit rapper signed him to Shady Records, under Dr. Dre’s Aftermath, after he had got his hands on his mixtape “Guess Who’s Back?”, prior to the epic trio working on multiple projects together.

“The Final Lap Tour” will feature the rap superstar performing numerous fan-favourite, and chart-topping hits, along with rare tunes that haven’t been performed live in decades. You will not want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to see 50 Cent on the Bangkok stage!
