Il Divo Set To Bring “A New Day” Tour to Bangkok in November

The multi-national classical crossover vocal group Il Divo is set to perform in Bangkok this November, as part of their “A New Day” world tour. The hotly-anticipated concert will take place on Sunday, November 19 at True Icon Hall within the ICONSIAM shopping complex.

Fans in Thailand have been filled with excitement since it was announced that they would be taking to the stage for an exciting, one-night-only show. “A New Day” tour is in support of the quartet’s most recent studio album “For Once In My Life: A Celebration of Motown” which came out in July 2021, commemorating the milestone of the group’s tenth release.

Il Divo is comprised of four tenors hailing from France, Switzerland, and the United States. They include Swiss classically trained tenor Urs Bühler, French tenor Sébastien Izambard, American tenor David Miller, and the newest member, American baritone Steven LaBrie.

Carlos Marín, the beloved Il Divo member, tragically passed away in December 2021, with the Spanish baritone being just 53 at the time. Following his passing, the three remaining members continued to perform before Steven LaBrie joined the group full time in August 2023, having supported the lads as a special guest at a number of concerts before then.

X-Factor creator Simon Cowell first came up with the idea for Il Divo in 2001, spending an estimated two years recruiting the four original members. Il Divo’s self-titled debut album, released in November 2004, was extremely well-received by both the public and critics.

So far they have pulled in over 30 million album sales, and earned 160 gold and platinum accolades across 35 countries. This success has seen them perform before a number of famous figures, such as the late Queen of England and former US President Bill Clinton.

The remarkable singers will commence the Asian leg of the tour in Taipei, before heading to Bangkok prior to concluding with two back-to-back concerts in Seoul. During their tour, the quartet will be performing in several languages including English, Spanish, and Italian as they cover hit songs from the ten albums they’ve released over the last two decades.

With LaBrie now onboard, the group is working on new music to mark this new beginning in their journey. Anyone attending Il Divo’s Bangkok concert are sure to have a wonderful time when the iconic group delivers its powerful, emotive ballads and uplifting anthems.
