Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Tate McRae is set to perform in Bangkok for the first time later this year on Saturday, November 2nd at the recently-opened UOB LIVE, EMSPHERE.
The 20-year-old Calgary, Canada native has taken the world by storm, building a large fan base since bursting onto the scene in 2017 with her third place finish on the US reality TV series ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, during the thirteenth season. Two billion streams of hits in the last four years have seen Tate become one of the biggest names in pop music.
During her musical career so far, there have been a host of awards, including nominations for two Billboard Music Awards, a MTV VMA Award, several People’s Choice Awards, and more. 2020 smash “You Broke Me First” is the single that truly put the singer on the map.
After performing at the BRIT Awards in March, Tate then went on to bring her “Think Later World Tour 2024” to venues across the UK and Europe. It is scheduled to move to the US and Canada in July and August prior to the 59-date tour arriving in Asia on October 29th.
Tokyo is the first stop it is due to make in this region with Singapore, Bangkok, and Manila following, before the tour wraps up after November shows in Australia and New Zealand.
As a child, McRae uploaded videos of herself singing and dancing on YouTube, whereas it is clear that now, the songstress is coming into her own. Close friends with Olivia Rodrigo, she has songs written for her these days by Billie Eilish and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.
Her debut album “I Used To Think I Could Fly” came out in 2022 rising to Number 7 in the UK charts, spawning the track “She’s All I Wanna Be” and “Chaotic”. In addition to singing, writing and dancing, she is very involved in choreographing her shows and music videos.
Tate released her second album “Think Later” towards the end of 2023 which debuted at Number 4 on the US Billboard 200, and “Greedy” earned the singer her first Number 1 on the Spotify Global chart. This album explores feelings of falling in love and embracing the raw emotions that people experience as a result of leading with their intuition and hearts.
“Exes” was the second single from this sophomore album, produced by Ryan Tedder and award-winning Tyler Spry, boasting an upbeat tempo and frisky lyrics. “Run For The Hills” and “Grave” are some of the other standout tracks, displaying McRae’s musical prowess.
